in Mexico city downtown, organized by the APAF B747 Association in honor of this last rotation
of B744 'Air France. This evening was a memorable moment for all people who like the B747 ...

After more than 45 years in the history of Air France, it is with great emotion that the crew qualified B744 leave the hotel in the center of Mexico City to the airport "Benito Juárez", where the aircraft, affectionately known as the "Super Jumbo" F-GITJ just arrived from Paris for the last time to make this last commercial flight Mexico to Paris CDG .

More than 45 years after the first flight from Paris to New York, which was completed on 1970, June 3 .
Air France salutes with emotion the last flight of this legendary aircraft affectionately nicknamed "the Jumbo Jet".
The Upper deck and elegantly bulged fuselage of the Boeing 747 have entered into the collective memory of Air France customers
and staff members.
Its launch in the seventies revolutionized the world of air transport.
As a result, aviation became more accessible and entered an era of tourism for all.

Since the seventies, Air France has innovated to enhance its on board experience and developed its DNA to better serve customers. The Principal Cabin Director position was created to coordiante the service and attention provided in aircraft that can carry up to 500 passengers. Gastronomy is given priority, placed in the hands of major French chefs: Paul Bocuse, Gaston Lenôtre and even Pierre Troisgros have all worked in exclusive collaboration with Air France. Lastly, Pierre Gautier Delaye is responsible for the interior harmony of the cabin and pays special attentions to seat cushions and backrests.
THE AIR FRANCE BOEING 747 :
A TEST CASE FOR MODERNITY
Over the years, the Boeing 747 has served as a test case for modernity.
As one of the first airlines to operate the Jumbo Jet, Air France made the Boeing 747 the flagship of its long haul fleet. Most of the company's destinations were served by the large aircraft, including New York, Montreal, the French West Indies, Reunion, Asia and many more destinations.
Air France took delivery of its first 747-100 in 1970 and received its first 747-200F in 1974. The carrier would later add the 747-200B in 1977, the 747-300 and 747-400 in 1991, and two variations of the 747-400F in 2002 and 2009. In total, Air France operated 52 747 aircraft across seven variants, flying every type of 747 except the 747SP and the 747-8.
On 2016, January 14, Air France was celebrating the iconic aircraft by 2 exceptional flights around the France.
