My experience of "Plane Spotting Guides" is as of 2015 & 2017 :
Abu Dhabi International Airport (Arabic: مطار أبو ظبي الدولي) (IATA: AUH, ICAO: OMAA) is an international airport in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
The airport, located 30.6 km east of Abu Dhabi city, is the second largest in the UAE, serving around 20 million passengers in 2014. It has three operational passenger terminals—Terminal 1 (divided into Terminals 1A and 1B), Terminal 2, Terminal 3. Abu Dhabi International Airport is spread over an area of 3,400 hectares. Its terminal spaces are dominated by Etihad Airways, which is the United Arab Emirates' second largest air carrier after Emirates. More than 30 airlines offered service to over 120 destinations in more than 60 countries with non-stop services to five of six inhabited continents
Security : Caution, the spotting in the UAE is neither supported nor understood nor tolerated. Photography of airplanes in the United Arab Emirates is avenged and punished when being caught by authorities or police.
SPOTTING IS AT YOUR OWN RISK IN THE UAE
Authrization : Abu Dhabi International Airport also specifies on its website that permission is required for photography and videography. It grants site visits to certain areas of the airport after the required documentation and reasons for filming are submitted. "Any request to film or photograph aircraft from within or around the airports has to follow a strict approval process before an individual or group is granted access"
Weather : is constantly the same during the year, massive heat haze will be a problem which is far lesser in winter.
Traffic : is not dependent from season
Car : Not necessary for the spots below
Location Spot "Terminal Transit Aera" : You can take somes pictures only inside the terminal 2 in transit aera (AirSide), You can choose a suitable seat for you along the long window front and you 've a great view of the apron & runways between the gates through the windows
